The French Revolution was a watershed in the history of revolutions. It was a movement initiated by the masses against the tyranny of the monrachichal system, the shivers of which were felt in monarchies all across Europe. The revolution put forth some of the basic rights of mankind that were inalienable and it left a lasting impact on the political thought of the European society.
