Later the settled in Gandhara under Kujula Kadphises and thus began their empire. They expanded later into the plains of Punjab and Ganga Valley. Kansihka was the greatest Kushan emperor and one of the greatest emperors of India, under whom the empire made an all-round development. The empire stretched from the Central Asia to Patliputra and Gujarat and Malwa. The Shakas were their vassals. Kanishka was one of the greatest patrons of Buddhism ever.
