Article 108 provides for joint session. joint session is required to resolve deadlock between two houses (lok sabha and rajya sabha ). This deadlock can arise because of three circumstances : 1.when bill passed by one house get rejected by the other house. 2. other house neither reject nor pass the bill for 6 months. 3. other house pass bill with some changes which is not accepted by first house. bill presented before joint session need to be passed by simple majority. Therefore generally lok sabha have an upper hand in these cases :)
