  2. History of Rajputs A Rajput (from Sanskrit raja-putra, "son of a king") is a member of one of the patrilineal clans of western, central northern India and some parts of Pakistan. Rajputs rose to prominence during the 6th to 12th centuries.

  3. History of Rajputs The first major Rajput kingdom was the Sisodia-ruled kingdom of Mewar. The principal Rajput states of Mewar, Marwar and Amber were alienated from the Mughal Empire due to the religious and administrative policies of Aurangzeb. The rulers of Jodhpur and Jaipur were made the Mughal governors of Gujarat and Malwa.
