Lesson 5 of 8 • 2 upvotes • 10:44mins
Various elastic properties of materials play an important role in categorizing materials. From the previous lesson we understood the exact meaning of elastic region and plastic region. From these regions we can derive the elastic modulus, shear modulus which is related to shear stress and shear strain and also Poisson's ratio. The relation between these three factors is very much important while we are solving problems in many competitive examination. This relation helps us to understand the link between dimension changes and normal as well as shear stress and strain. A prominent property of material called An elasticity is discussed briefly in this lesson. The effect of strain and work hardening on anelastic property of material is explained briefly. Ductile and brittle fracture is explained with the help of neat graphs in this lesson.
