What Is PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana?
PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana is a government initiative to provide social and financial security to small and marginalized farmers during their old age. The scheme is open to all the small landholding farmers aged 18-40 years. Under this scheme, the eligible farmers will receive a pension amount of Rs. 3000 per month and other benefits during their old age.
The scheme was constructed keeping in mind the struggles and shortcomings of small and marginalized farmers in India. Once they attain old age, they can no longer work in fields. Small farmers do not have much savings, making their old age full of struggles. The scheme is effective from August 9, 2019.
PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana is a step of the Union Government to prevent small farmers from struggling in old age. After 60 years of age, the farmers can not work hard in the fields and are left unemployed. Small farmers do not have enough savings to spend their old age peacefully. Hence, this scheme provides a monthly pension to such farmers in their old age.
Key Features of the PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana include a monthly contribution to the pension fund by farmers. In return, the Government issues a monthly pension of Rs. 3000 to farmers after 60. Eligibility for registering PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana includes all farmers of age 18-40 years with less than 2 hectares of land.
