PM KISAN also known as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme was launched on February 1, 2019. This is a scheme regulated by the government in order to support farmers. This scheme ensures that the farmers get minimum income support per year of about ₹ 6000. During the 2019 Interim Union Budget of India, Piyush Goyal announced the initiative of PM Kisan.
The government assures to deposit rupees 6000 directly into the bank account of eligible farmers who have registered for this scheme. The government will deposit in the form of three equal four monthly installments of ₹ 2000 each and the farmer will receive 6000 ₹ in total. The fund’s usage will be completely dependent on the will of the farmers. The fund transfer is solely done by the Government of India. The funding is done using Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
PM Kisan Registration 2022
The farmers who are eligible but not yet registered for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme can apply before the last date, which is extended till 30th September 2022 by visiting the respective government portal. Lakhs of eligible farmers have availed the benefits of this scheme initiated by Piyush Goyal during Interim Union Budget of India 2019. The farmers get rupees 6000 in three installments.
This helps the Indian farmers financially, and provides minimum income support by Government of India. The Rythu Bandhu scheme run by Telangana Government inspired the initiation of PM KISAN. For the financial year 2018-19 Rs. 20,000 crore was allotted in the PM KISAN scheme and for 2019-20 more 2 crore eligible farmers have received the benefits of this scheme.

PM Kisan Eligibility
The individual farmer applying for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna or PM Kisan must follow the eligibility criteria as mentioned by the Government of India. They are-
- The government’s data must contain the farmer or land owner’s name
- A farmer must possess a caste certificate or must belong to Scheduled caste, scheduled tribe or other backward category (OBC)
- The basic documents like Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, mobile number, etc. are necessary for the farmer to have
- A farmer must have the details and documents related to land records
An eligible farmer will only be able to apply and avail the benefits of PM KISAN Scheme only if they have the mandatory documents like Citizenship proof, Landholding papers, an Aadhaar card & Bank account.
Rupees 6000 will only be transferred to the farmer’s bank account when they register online. The new legislation passed related to this scheme will not affect or harm the farmers and their families. They can purchase food and seeds for their crops.

How to Register for PM Kisan 2022
A new eligible farmer can register for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna (PM Kisan) by following step by step procedure efficiently. This can ensure the registration of the scheme and avail its benefits.
The mandatory documents must be scanned after applying for the PM Kisan Scheme so that the beneficiary can upload these at the time of registration.
The steps are as follows-
Step 1: For applying the PM Kisan Yojna, one should visit the official website of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna which is @pmkisan.gov.in
Step 2: After opening the official website, check for the tab of New Farmer Registration on the Homepage, click on the tab.
Step 3: Once you click the above-mentioned tab you will be redirected to another webpage where you will be asked to farmer type Choose Rural Farmer Registration if you belong to rural area choose it or if you belong to urban area then choose the option of Urban Farmer Registration.
Step 4: Post choosing the above-mentioned option, the credentials should be filled and then tap on the option of Send OTP.
Step 5: You will receive an OTP on the mobile number you have provided, fill in the OTP and proceed for the registration.
Step 6: Post filling the OTP, more details may be asked to fill and after filling these credentials and upload the required documents and then finalise the application.
The application must be downloaded and printed after finalising the complete form.
