The National Testing Agency has been conducting the JEE Examination since 2019. Prior to that, the Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the JEE Examination. The subjects that are covered in this examination are Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
The JEE Main exam in 2016 took place on 10th April. The exam took place in the morning from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. There were 90 questions in total equally divided among the three subjects i.e. 30 questions in each section. The exam was conducted in online mode. For every right answer, the candidate got 4 marks. 1/4th marks were deducted for every incorrect answer.
According to candidates who wrote the exam, the difficulty level of the mathematics section was moderate. The questions were asked from topics such as Hyperbola, Logarithm, Circle, Area, Progression series, etc. The Chemistry section was relatively easy. Questions were asked from Physical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. The difficulty level of the Physics section was moderate to difficult. The conceptual questions were said to be lengthy.
It is imperative for students to regularly practice old question papers in order to grasp the examination pattern and gauge their preparedness. Since JEE is one of the toughest exams, candidates should try their best to be thorough with all sections.
