JEE Advanced (previously known as IIT JEE) is the next part of the JEE examination, which is normally held following the JEE Main test. JEE Advanced is a computer-based test that is often administered on a rotating basis by seven distinct Indian IITs (IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Delhi).
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the JEE Advanced exam that was held on 25th May, 2014. This was a computer based online examination. This examination was conducted by IIT Kharagpur. The questions came from different subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The paper was conducted in 2 sessions. Paper 1 took place from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper 2 took place from 2 PM to 5 PM. There were in total 60 questions per paper. The total marks of the paper was 360 marks.
From an expert’s point of view, the difficulty level of Physics paper was average. The paper was lengthy and had calculation-based questions. The Chemistry section had slightly difficult to above average level of questions. The questions majorly came from Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. The Mathematics section consisted of questions that were moderate to difficult. The paper was lengthy. Overall, it is essential for candidates to practice in order to attempt the JEE Advanced paper properly. It is only after consistent practice and efforts that the students are prepared well for upcoming exams.
