Answer: Gandhinagar is the capital of Gujarat. Gandhinagar was named after Mahatma Gandhi and it has a total area covering about 326 km2. The population of the city is over 3 Lakhs. This city was completed by Chief Architect H.K. Mewada, who is a graduate from Cornell University and Prakash M Apte, who is his assistant.

 There are mainly only 2 religions found in Gandhinagar, which are Hindu and Muslims.

  •  Hindus have a majority of about 94.5. 
  •  Muslims have a minority of about 3.3%.

In 2011, when the 1st election for a municipality in the city happened, Congress won the election. Mahendrasingh Rana was termed as the 1st mayor of the city. The Sabarmati River gets dried up during summer. Over 50% of Gandhinagar’s land is covered by trees or plants therefore, this city is also termed as India’s tree capital. The temperature of the city is basically wet and dry. The climate remains hot during the monsoon season. They receive over 40 degrees during summer and the least they can receive during summer is 23 degrees. City becomes cold during the wintertime. They experience 14 degrees and the highest temperature that can go is 29 degrees. Annual rainfall happening in the area is around 803.4 mm. They get every type of facility relating to transport. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport is situated only 18 kms away from the city. Gandhinagar Capital railway station, which is in sector 14. They also have metro services between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
