Unacademy Mains Residential Programme – Terms & Conditions

  1. The Unacademy Mains Residential Programme (“Programme”) is a residential support initiative organized by M/s Sorting Hat Technologies Private Limited (“Unacademy”) which offers accommodation in Delhi during the UPSC Mains preparation period for Eligible Learners (defined below) who participate in the Unacademy Big Freedom Sale (“Offer”) during the Offer Period.
  2. The Programme shall be governed by these Programme Terms as well as all other policies and terms and conditions (collectively referred to as “Platform Terms”) available on www.unacademy.com. The Participants and Unacademy shall be collectively referred to as “Parties” and individually as “Party”.
  3. All capitalized terms not defined in these Programme Terms shall have the meanings assigned under the Platform Terms. In case of conflict, the Programme Terms shall prevail unless stated otherwise.
  4. Offer Conditions: To be eligible for the Offer, learners must:
    • Purchase a 2-year Plus or Iconic subscription on 15th August 2025 as part of the Unacademy Big Freedom Sale.
    • Clear the UPSC Prelims in 2026 or 2027.
  5. The Programme is applicable to individuals who:
    • Are Indian citizens
    • Reside in India
    • Purchase the subscription during the Offer Period
    • Are legally eligible to enter into a contract or meet the age requirements under Platform Terms
  6. The Programme includes provision of accommodation in Delhi to the Eligible Learners (defined below) until the completion of the Mains exam immediately following the Prelims for which the Eligible Learner qualified. Upon conclusion of the Mains examination, Learners must vacate the accommodation premises within the timeline communicated by Unacademy.
  7. Learners satisfying the Offer Conditions (“Eligible Learners”) must contact Unacademy within 1 (One) month of the declaration of Prelims results to avail the Offer at the email id- learnersupport.upsc@unacademy.com..
  8. Eligible Learners shall be required to submit documents, forms, or other details as may be requested by Unacademy within the timeline prescribed by Unacademy. Subject to successful verification and compliance with all eligibility criteria and Offer conditions, Unacademy shall provide the Learner with specific details regarding the accommodation (e.g., hostel/PG, single/double occupancy) and other onboarding instructions.
  9. Such Learner shall be required to submit documents or details as may be requested by Unacademy within the timeline prescribed by Unacademy. Subject to verification by Unacademy, Learners who satisfy the eligibility criteria and other Offer Conditions prescribed here shall receive specific details regarding the accommodation (e.g., hostel/PG, single/double occupancy).
  10. Learners must arrive at the designated accommodation within 2 (Two) weeks of receiving the lodging details from Unacademy. Failure to do so, without prior intimation, shall result in forfeiture of the Offer.
  11. The Offer cannot be deferred to any subsequent year under any circumstances and no such requests shall be entertained.
  12. Eligible Learners are required to strictly comply with all rules, regulations, and instructions communicated by Unacademy and/or any designated authority/person-in-charge at the accommodation facility. Any instance of misbehaviour, violation of accommodation policies, or involvement in unlawful or disruptive activities shall entitle Unacademy to take disciplinary action, including but not limited to immediate disqualification from the Programme and expulsion from the accommodation.
  13. Learners shall be solely and financially liable for any damage, loss, or deterioration caused to the accommodation property, furnishings, or shared facilities. Under no circumstances shall Unacademy be held responsible or liable for any such damage caused by the Learner.
  14. Consumption or possession of alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, or any illegal substances within the accommodation premises is strictly prohibited. Violation will result in immediate expulsion from the Programme.
  15. If an Eligible Learner is absent from the accommodation facility for a prolonged duration, as determined solely by Unacademy, and fails to provide a satisfactory explanation, such Learner may be disqualified from the Programme.
  16. The Offer under this Programme is strictly non-transferable. It cannot be assigned, sold, gifted, or otherwise transferred to any other individual under any circumstances. Additionally, no external visitors shall be allowed in the accommodation premises without prior written approval from Unacademy or the designated authority/ person in-charge at the accommodation facility.
  17. All queries related to the Programme must be directed to: learnersupport.upsc@unacademy.com.
  18. Unacademy reserves the right to reject a Participant if:
    • the documents or details provided are invalid, incorrect, incomplete, misleading, or untrue;
    • the Participant fails to comply with any Programme Terms or Platform Terms;
    • the Participant does not complete required formalities;
    • the Participant engages in fraudulent activity;
    • any other reason deemed appropriate by Unacademy.
  19. Unacademy shall not be responsible for any incorrect or incomplete communication details provided by the Participant, or for any delay or non-receipt of communication.
  20. The decision of Unacademy on all matters pertaining to the Programme shall be final and binding on all Parties.
  21. Unacademy reserves the right to modify, cancel, or discontinue the Programme or any part thereof at its sole discretion, without prior notice or liability.
  22. Unacademy shall not be liable for any loss, claim, damage, or expense incurred by the Participant due to participation or non-participation in the Programme.
  23. Unacademy shall not be responsible for any applicable taxes, fees, or charges related to the Offer.
  24. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Programme shall be governed by the laws of India, and the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction..
  25. Participation in the Programme is voluntary. No registration fee is charged. The Programme is offered on a best-effort basis.
  26. The Participant shall indemnify Unacademy against any claims, losses, or damages arising from participation in the Programme.
  27. Unacademy shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, terrorist attack, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, acts of God, government-imposed lockdowns (including those arising from health emergencies, public safety concerns, or other regulatory directives), or any other events amounting to Force Majeure.
  28. Unacademy shall not be responsible for any loss or damage resulting from discontinuation or cancellation of the Programme due to legal or regulatory requirements or other unavoidable circumstances.
  29. The aggregate liability of Unacademy under this Programme shall be limited to the total Course Fee paid by the Learner for the eligible subscription purchased under the Offer. In the event that Unacademy fails to fulfil the commitments of the Programme, Unacademy shall refund the Course Fee paid by the Learner, subject to verification and confirmation of non-fulfilment.
  30. All information provided under this Programme is on an “as is” basis. Unacademy disclaims all warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
