Due to VINDICTIVE nature of my friend,I had to end friendship with her. she was so SUPERCILIOUS that sometimes I got bored of her talks. one talent of her, she was VICARIOUS . She could provide solution to any problem as she had faced it before. whenever i companied with her , I felt SATIATION as i got every thing in my life. whenever I think about her ,it makes me NOSTALGIC. so overall collection of memories with her are not ENNUI.
Hi Reema, Thanks for putting up this great course, Your style of explaining is spot on.Didn't knew increasing vocab would be so much fun and easy..thank you so much:) One point though, could you please elaborate more on the difference b/w usage of word "feeling" and "experiencing",as described in the example of ennui, as they are used quite interchangeable?
Hi Shushant, I'd like to answer your question here. I hope, it'd help you finding the difference: Let's take an example of any bollywood song- "Hame jabse mohabbat ho gayi h, ye duniya khubsoorat ho gayi h" While listening to this song, you might imagine someone and feel like, you're the luckiest person on earth and "duniya" might seem "Khoobsurat" to you but.... you wld be able to experience the same only when you're in love with someone in your real life. Hope, it served the purpose!
In competitive profession people likely to behave vindictively. Men are supercilious by boasting about generous salary.since I get hungry in between lunch and dinner. I keep snacks in hand to satiate my appetite.A feeling of nostalgia leads me to look the old photos. After writing these sentences I am feeling ennui.
Nice work Ma'am as usual. Here I am making some sentences from the words in your lesson- (1) Vindictive- Whichever party is in the power, it always has some degree of vindictiveness. (2) Satiated- Having some cholocate pastries after so long made him feel satiated. (3) Vicarious- When I watched the movie 'Schindler's List' I vicariously experienced the horrible life the Jews went through. (4) Nostalgia- Returning from home to city always leaves an air of Nostalgia in my mind. (5) Ennui- After graduating from college and before joining my new job, I was experiencing the ennui as there was nothing to be excited about. (6)Supercilious- Italian belly-dancer was one of those supercilious women. Ma'am please let me know if these are correct ?
i want to take vindictive from my lost defeat
