  3. Before reading anything, watch the Justice with Michael Sandel series on Youtube or Harvard University website. It will give you a good introduction of exactly what ethics is. First 6-7 episodes are enough for a good start. You can watch all if you like.

Supplement it with examples from Subbarao book. Do not go into the psychological technicalities and terms. Just get a basic idea of the concept and think about its practical applications, as many as you can.

Just read about the philosophies of some 20-30 most important thinkers from both India and the world. You have to just get an idea about their philosophies. UPSC will give you their quote and ask for it's contemporary relevance and your personal views on it.

These are very contemporary and dynamic topics. You will have to keep a keen eye on newspapers and magazines for picking up current examples you can quote in your answers.
