STATIONARY WAVES Equation of a stationary wave is given by: Stationary waves are characterised by nodes and y (2Asinkx)coswt antinodes. Nodes are the points for which the amplitude is minimum is maximum.
STATIONARY WAVES In a stationary wave, nodes and antinodes are formed alternately and distance between them is 2/4. At antinodes, displacement and velocity is maximum. At nodes, displacement and velocity is zero. Distance between two consecutive nodes or antinodes is A/2. Distance between a node and adjoining antinode is 2/4.
VIBRATIONS OF A CLOSED ORGAN PIPE In a closed organ pipe, one end is closed and other end is open. In a closed organ pipe, the closed end is always a node while the open end is always an antinode. Fundamental mode or first mode: Fundamental frequency: v1 This is also called first harmonic c is the speed of sound in air.
