India, in the 90’s has initiated radical changes in the economic policy to meet the competitive Global Business. The new policies, launched in conjunction with the liberalized Trade policy and vigorous reform of the monetary and fiscal sectors, are part of a comprehensive ongoing program of Economic reforms. Many Indian Organizations, both from public/private sectors have initiated Total Quality Management (TQM) efforts to sustain the Business and to become a Global player in Business. Every organization that has initiated TQM has adopted its own Model for implementing TQM and in this paper, the author briefly explains the Best practices of 8 organizations. The Organizations are: 1.     Perfect Machine Tools-Quality as Leadership             2.     Mukand Industries-Quality as Infrastructure             3.     Modi-Xerox-Quality as Systems             4.     Ranbaxy Laboratories-Quality as Manufacturing             5.     Thermax – Quality as After Sales Service             6.     Hindustan Lever- Quality as Marketing             7.     HDFC- Quality as Service to Customer             8.     Infosys Technologies- Quality as HRD In marching towards the 21st century, Indian Corporates have begun the journey of TQM.The journey is very painful. Yet, there is no alternate road for Excellence.TQM is both a Goal and a path. Therfore, the quality journey is one that can never end.
