mam i have read in ncert that if one crosses IDL while moving from west to east, a day is subtracted and if one crosses IDL while moving from east to west,a day is added . mam please clear this doubt.

Bro. I had a same doubt, infact travelling from east ---> west day is added and west ---> east happens otherwise.As per the below link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5eYDj1JiwM

mam is wrong.....it is substracted....but it is said to have gained a day.....for example if you are at Tokyo on Monday and crosses IDL to reach California then you will surely reach there on SUNDAY...which u already spent in Tokyo....and said to be gained a day
correction:- if we move from pm(prime meridian) to west we gain a day similar if we move from pm to east we tend to lose a day that's what she explained but instead of pm she mentioned E&W respectively! Thanks!
