The renaissance or rebirth of Europe was a transitional period between the medieval and modern periods of Europe. It was largely a cultural movement, but there were other developments too, particularly in the field of sciences. New inventions and discoveries enlightened Europe and paved way for its rapid modernization. This lesson also explains the features of the movement in different parts of Europe. It was not the same everywhere. Although its a vast topic, only the portion of the Renaissance relevant for the study of Medieval India will be discussed here.
