Gastrointestinal hormones are those hormones released by cells of GI tract and either stimulate or inhibit secretion of enzymes in the gut, help in proper digestion and control gastric motility. Gastrin secreted by G-cells of stomach stimulates parietal cells of stomach to secrete HCl. Thus, hypergastrinaemia leads to peptic ulcer.
