1.India's first Biofuel flight Successful -Test run by spice jet on 27th August 2018. -Flight took off from Dehradun to Delhi. India is trying to promote biofuels to reduce dependence on import fuels. USA & Australia have tested commercial Flights with Biofuel. Fuel used = 25% Biofuel(Jatropa) , 75% Traditional fuel.
2.Zonal system Telangana The new zonal system is aimed at providing 95 percent of government jobs to locals in the respective zones. The new system, which will come into effect after receiving the presidential asset, will have seven zones and two multi zones It is intended to ensure a fair deal to the locals in both recruitment and transfer of employees.
3. Third Indian ocean conference The third edition of Indian Ocean Conference was held in Hanoi, capital city of Vietnam from 27-28 August 2018. It was inaugurated by External Affairs sushma swaraj
-It is annual conference that aims to bring together Heads of States/Governments, Ministers, thought leaders, scholars, diplomats, bureaucrats on single platform. So far, two successful editions of conference were hosted in 2016 and 2017 in Singapore and Sri Lanka respectively.
4. OSIRIS-REx NASA's asteroid sampling spacecraft OSIRIS-REx has captured first images of its target asteroid Bennu OSIRIS-Rex mission was launched in September 2016 for studying 101955 Bennu, a carbonaceous asteroid. It is NASA's first asteroid sampling mission.
5. Indus Treaty talks to begin tomarrow Indus Waters Treaty, signed on September 19,1960, between India and Pakistan and brokered by the World Bank. The treaty fixed and delimited the rights and obligations of both countries concerning the use of the waters of the Indus River system.
