Pakke Paga Hornbill Festival: 19 Jan 2024

The Pakke Paga Hornbill Festival (PPHF) has begun in Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing the conservation of hornbills.

    • It is held near Pakke Tiger Reserve,  home to four hornbill species.
  • Theme of 2024: Domutoh Domutoh, Paga hum Domutoh, which translates to ‘Let Our Hornbills Remain’ in Nyishi.
  • The Nyishi are the largest ethnic group in Arunachal Pradesh.
