Swachh Survekshan Survey 2023:

    • Cities >1 Lakh Population: Joint Winners: Indore and Surat
    • Indore: Cleanest city for 7 consecutive years
    • Surat: First-time top award winner (First instance of a tie for the top prize in the award’s 8-year history)
    • Top State: Maharashtra
    • Runner-up: Madhya Pradesh
    • Cities <1 Lakh Population:: Sasvad, Maharashtra
  • Special Category Awards:
    • Best Safety for Sanitation Workers: Chandigarh (Safaimitra Surakshit Shehar Award)
    • Cleanest Ganga Town: Varanasi
    • Cleanest Cantonment: Mhow Cantonment
  • Bottom Five States: Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Nagaland, Tripura

  • The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs recently released the Swachh Survekshan Survey 2023.
