Why in news?
The sub-metre optical satellite of Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) was successfully deployed into space.
About TSAT-1A:
- Assembled at TASL’s Vemagal facility in Karnataka.
- Launched by SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
- It will deliver high-resolution optical satellite images with increased collection capacity, through its multispectral and hyperspectral capabilities.
