In the latest SAFF U-17 Championship, India won against Nepal with an amazing score of 4-0. The South Asian Football Federation tournament took place in Sri Lanka at Racecourse International Stadium. In the finals, India won with a leading score after leading by 3-1 in the group league.
An international football competition, the SAFF U-17 Championship was the 7th edition of the SAFF U-17 Championship. Under this competition, men players under 17 years of age take part. The recent competition was fruitful for the India team with their excellent gameplay.
On 14th September 2022, India made a convincing title in the SAFF U-17 Championship title. The final was played between India and Nepal. Nepal earlier defeated India in the group stages. But, the Indian team took the highest goals in their hands in the finals.

India took the game on the pitch with its score makers, Boby Singh, Vanlalpeka Guite, Korou Singh, and Aman. In the first 18th minute, Boby Singh opened the scoring for India. All four of these players have scored one goal each. These goals have led to the winning momentum for India once again.
Captain Vanlalpeka Guite made an interesting goal. Guite pushed the ball towards the right flank, and Boby, who was unmarked, took the ball slightly inside the net. This beautiful flank makes a great goal for the team in the finals.
Towards the 38th minute, India scored another goal. The second goal of the game was taken by Korou Singh. In the same scenario, Vanlalpeka played a significant role in pushing off the ball toward Singh to make the second score.
With this in the 63rd minute, India led to a significant goal. The third goal of the Indian team has set Nepal into tensed toes. With the third goal, the situation turned worse for Nepal. In third place, Vanlalpeka himself turned into the scorer.
Captain Vanlalpeka’s third goal gave no chance for Nepal’s goalkeeper to hold it. The push of the ball from the left flank towards the right top corner of the net made the score.
Before the third goal, Nepal’s skipper Prasanth was shown a red card. This situation has brought a winning angle for the Indian team. Towards the end of the gameplay, five minutes were added for the second half game.
During the last five minutes, India made its fourth and final goal. Indian substitute player Aman made the final goal. This final push had shown that India has played as a team for the moment bringing all the resources in place. Aman ended the game with a new style. He placed the ball between the goalkeeper’s legs to make the final goal.
Match Outlook for Nepal's Gameplay
Even though India has won the title this year again, the Nepal team has tried to place their grip as much as possible. After the first two goals made by the Indian team, Nepal continued to take the turnover. The team tried their best to break the Indian team’s defence mechanism. However, they failed to do so.
Nepal’s skipper Prashant Laksam tried to take off the match highlight from India. However, his actions led him to have a red flag. Soon after that, Nepal played with ten players, and India maintained to make the final two goals.

Indian captain Vanlalpeka Guite won the award of the most valuable football player of the entire tournament this year. Indian goalkeeper Sahil won the award of being the best goalkeeper.

Head Coach Bibiano Fernandes made a comment about the effort of the boys. Fernandes remarked, “I am extremely proud of my boys.”
Moments after India won the title, he added, “There existed a bunch of hard labour put in, and every asset team and participant earns equivalent recognition.”

In the Goalkeeper section, India had Julfikar Gazi, Sahil, and Tajamul Islam for the entire tournament this year.
For the defender’s section, India had Mukul Panwar, Balkaran Singh, Manjot Singh Dhami, Ricky Meetei, Chandan Yadav, and Suraj Kumar Singh.
The maximum number of players were from the midfielders section. This included Lalpekhlua, Korou Singh, Gurnaj Singh Grewal, Ngarin Shaiza, Lalpekhlua, Vanlalpeka Guite, Boby Singh, Huzafah Ahmad Dar, Malemngamba Singh Thokchom, Danny Meitei, Lalhmingchhuanga Fanai, Obed Mangminhao Haokip, and Faizan Waheed.
In the forward’s section, India holds Aman and Thanglalsoun Gangte.
