The Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh has a lot of dams including Ravishankar dam or Gangrel dam that has tourists visiting the state from all over the country. 

Gangrel Dam 

The Gangrel Dam is built in the Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh across the Mahanadi river. It is also known as Sagar Dam. It is the longest dam in Chhattisgarh with a length of 1830 m and a height of 30.5 m. 

Murrum Silli Dam 

The Murrum Silli Dam is located in Dhamtari on the Sillari river. It is one of the most prominent architectural marvels in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is the first dam in Asia for having Siphon Spillways with a height of -34.15 m. This dam is built for the purpose of irrigation.

Tandula Dam 

The Tandula Dam is a very popular picnic spot. It is located in the Durg district, 5 kilometres away from Balod. 

Khudia Dam 

The Khudia Dam is a famous water sports destination in Chhattisgarh. It is located on a distance of 85 kilometres from Bilaspur. 

Dudhawa Dam 

The Dudhawa Dam is located in Dhamtari. It is built across the Mahanadi river. Mahanadi is a river in East Central India that flows through Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

The Rabo Dam is located in the Raigarh district. It is built across the river Kelo and is one of the most popular tourist attractions around Raigarh. 

Sondur Dam

• Adpather Dam- It is located near Raipur and flows from local Nalla. It’s an earthen dam that was completed in 1979. It has its basin in Mahanadi. It’s 1200 m long and has a height of 13.85 m. 

• Agariya Dam- It is located near the city of Mungeli in the Bilaspur district. It flows from the local river and has its basin in Mahanadi. It’s an earthen dam that was completed in 1977. It’s 1080 metres long and has a height of 16.89 m. 

• Ajabnagar Dam- It is located near the city of Surajpur in the Surguja district. It flows from the river Khokhaniya and has its basin in Ganga. It’s an earthen dam that was completed in 1989. The dam has a length of 1500 m and a height of 16.65 metres.

• Amakhokhra Dam- It is located near the city of Katghora in the Korba district. It flows from the local river and has its basin in Mahanadi. It was completed in 1985. It’s an earthen dam with a length of 744 m and a height of 10.8 metres. 

• Amakoni Dam- This dam was built for the purpose of irrigation. It is located near the city of Mahasamund. It was completed in 1975 and has its basin in Mahanadi. It’s an earthen dam with a length of 1200 metres and a height of 10.9 metres. 

• Amgaon Dam- This dam was also built for the purpose of irrigation. It flows from the local river and is located near the city of Raj Nandgaon. It  has its basin in Mahanadi. It’s an earthen dam with the length of 630 metres and a height of 10.66 metres.
