Education is the first and most fundamental right of any child to be received. In recent years, India has made progress in levelling up schooling and enrolment rates in primary education. Government facilitates primary education for free, so children will receive the basic education even if they can’t afford it. Private schools in India provide primary education to children from age group 4 to 9 or 10. Private schools provide primary education as it is of great importance for the continuous development of the young upcoming generation.

Primary education

Primary education begins from age 6 it includes 1st grade to 5th grade. Primary education can also be divided into two parts which can be lower primary (I to V) and upper primary (VI to VIII). The private schools offering primary education focus on learning, living, and laughing with the same number of students present inside the class.

The first formal, structured education consists of 3 to 5 years, considered kindergarten or nursery, a part of primary education. 8. It also offers the importance of peace over violence and riots so that the children don’t get paved into the dark side of society.

The importance of primary education

• Social and Emotional Development- The children tend to develop a sense of respect for others by learning different moral values through their respective curricula. They learn to choose what is right and what is wrong in a given situation. The ability to learn and work with cooperation is also developed through primary education. Primary education is focused on the importance of sharing, solving disputes and voicing self-opinions to build up confidence in children. These are essential skills students develop through primary education.

• Independence and confidence- The children at a very young age go to school and remain separated from their families for a particular duration in order to teach them to be happy around themselves and their peers. This allows them to understand things that they need to do independently in order to live in a society. They try to adapt to the environment of the school that can make them stable and confident. Primary education offers children to obtain a sense of self and explore new things which teach them about themselves.

• Improves reading and communication skills- Primary schooling is associated with reading and communication skills. An absence of early education can lead to illiteracy and different negative effects, which can be a potential challenge to the child as well as the nation’s development. Children who receive primary education are more productive and skilled, which can open a lot of new opportunities for them in the future.

Primary education is the stage that needs to be completed by all the children as a part of the general literacy of the country.
