Idea on the Adjective of Quality

Adjectives of Quality are the words or expressions that characterise the quality of a particular thing that is being addressed. Such Adjectives of quality include words like beautiful, nice, white, green, large, tall and excellent.

Adjectives are the words or expressions that describe a particular thing in terms of its quality, quantity, or numbers. Most people believe that the use of Adjectives in the sentence may modify the adverbs, verbs or other adjectives. But that is not so, they do not have any role in the modification of the adverbs, verbs, or other adjectives.

Notably, the presence of adjectives in the sentences is most probably before the noun they describe. If we talk about the etymology of the word ‘adjective’, then we should know that the word originated from a Latin word adjectīvum which means an additional noun.

In total, we can categorise adjectives mainly into eight classifications namely, Adjectives of quality, Quantitative adjective, demonstrative adjective, proper adjective, interrogative adjective, distributive adjective, possessive adjective and numeral adjective.

Adjectives of Quality

Adjectives of Quality are the words or expressions that characterise the quality of a particular thing that is being addressed. In other words, the use of adjectives of quality in the sentence adds more information about the noun we are talking about. Such Adjectives of quality include words like beautiful, nice, white, green, large, tall and excellent.

The use of quality words provides an active glance to the dull paragraphs, thus their incorporation is better for the writer or the speakers. Further, the use of descriptive adjectives gives more clarity to the readers or the listeners about the noun that is being addressed. Suppose we use a simple sentence from the numerous adjectives of quality sentences to address a monkey sitting on a fence. Initially, we describe the situation as:

The monkey is squatting on the fence.

However, this is looking dull and doesn’t give much description about the monkey in the sentence. The proper use of adjectives in the sentence may add a bit of activeness in the sentence.

The tired monkey is squatting on a fence.

Now, after adding the adjective ‘tired’ in the sentence, there is activeness in the sentence. The word tired explains the quality of the monkey at the very moment that he is a tired monkey.
