Reading Comprehension -Types of Questions The question types can be broadly classified into few categories. Here they are listed out Reading Comprehension -Fact based question: This is a question that asks for direct information from the passage Could be a stat, a number, a dialogue or something similar. 1.
2.Reading Comprehension- Inference based question- This is a question whose answer may not be present in the passage but can be directly inferred from the facts in the passage. For example if I know as facts that Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system and there are 9 planets in our solar ystem, it can be directly inferred that there are 7 planets smaller than Saturn in our solar system.
3. Reading Comprehension - Tone based question Based on the wordings used by the author, the reader is asked to identify the tone of the overall passage. Tone is the adjective used to describe how the author has shared information. It can be appreciative, technical, concerned and so on.
4. Reading Comprehension - Theme based question These questions are based around the title and central idea of the passage 5. Reading Comprehension - Vocabulary based questiorn These questions pick out a word from the passage, and ask the reader to identify synonyms/antonyms from the options given. A good vocabulary helps in tackling such questions.
