Cells can be classified into prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells. A prokaryotic cell lacks membranous organelles like mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum etc. It has only one chromosome. A eukaryotic cell has a definite nucleus and a number of membranous organelles.It has many chromosomes. Eukaryotic cells can be in plants and animals.
