The issue of Non-Performing Assets has grown into monster.Our Banks are not in a position to lend for various activities thereby impeding the development of our economy. The Government announced various initiatives to tackle the menace.Policy initiatives like Insolvency and Bankruptcy code are intended to address this. This article delves to some of the actions of the Reserve Bank of India whose aftermath was nom-judicious lending, which caused the NPAs to occur.
