thanks for the awesome course mam. I have one doubt, mam can you please again tell the thickness of all the layers(crust, mantle, core) actually in your slide it's been mentioned something else and in the diagram shown is slide 11 it's been mentioned something else.
Sedimentary rocks have extremely high melting points. But before they can melt, they crystallise again, reacting to form new minerals. So the transition is from Sedimentary -> Metamorphic -> Igneous. There are exceptions like fulgurites and pseudotachylites. These involve rapid heating. Source:

Mamadm great job and u r a crusher in simplifying the concepts with clarity but a small doubt in the picture i.e., about 2900 km and 5100 km written in core section as per my understanding mantle extends upto a 2900 km depth from crust but what is this 5100 can u provide an explanation? Thanks in advance
