Conductor,insulator and semiconductor, Electric field inside a conductor.coductor having most no of free electrons, semiconductor less no of free electrons and in insulators having very less no of free electrons. Free electrons also known as conduction electrons.if conductor placed in an electric field(E) then inside the conductor redistribution of electrons started and hence internal electric field created (E'). After some time E'=E and hence redistribution stop. Finally inside the conductor net electric field is zero. Hence in electrostatic electric field inside the conductor is zero.
