Electric field given by partial differentiation of potential w.r.t position. E=-∂V/∂x,where y&z const.and so on for y& z. In r and θ ,E=-∂V/∂r, where θ const. After some time E'=E  and hence redistribution stop. Finally inside the conductor net electric field is zero. Hence in electrostatic electric field inside

Electric field E in radial and transverse (θ) direction. E(r)= 2Pcosθ/4πϵr3, and E(θ)=Psinθ/4πϵr3. Resultant field at point p is calculated by 
vector sum of E(r) and E(θ).

Torque (τ)= PxE cross product. And potential energy U= -P.E dot product,whete P= electric dipole moment and E = electric field. Torque is always opposite to the angular displacement.
