In fact it appeared as if nothing was changing except the kings and incessant wars. The art and architecture kept on improving, particularly the Buddhist and cave architecture. Indo-Greek, Parthian, Kushan, Satavahana, these art-forms evolved over the centuries and became part of Indian culture.
