Arc of Contact. The fourth lesson in this course of Gears . Here we try to find the radial path that is traced out by a point on the gear and check if there is any relationship between the arc of contact and the path of contact. Towards the end we derive an expression for the number of teeth that my be involved in engagement . A few similarities between the two contact locus have also been discussed in this lesson.
