INTRODUCTION Present Madhya Pradesh, came into existence on 1st November 2000
STATES REORGANISATION COMMISSION In 1953, the States Reorganization Commission was constituted on the recommendations of which on 1st November, 1956 a new Madhya Pradesh was a nnounced. The name Madhya Pradesh' was given by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru having total 43 districts. On 1st November, 2000, Chhattisgarh was created as 26th state on the map of India taking away 16 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
MADHYA PRADESH LEGISLATURE The State legislature occupies central position in the political system of a state.
ROLE OF LEGISLATURE The primary duty of the Legislative Assembly is to make Bills. It also passes annual budget and financial Bills.
MADHIYA PRADESH LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly consists of 230 members. The structure of the State Legislature is Unicameral and the term of the assembly is five years.
