I have the same doubt too.
in problem number 8 how does 3/4 becomes 6 and 1/8 becomes 1?

3/4 =o.75 and 1/8=0.125 0.75/0.125=6 therefore it becomes 6:1

3/4*8 & 1/8*8 Multiplying with a common divisible no. to remove fraction.

4. PROBLEM6 49 litres of milk has 80% milk concentration. How much water be added to make its concentration 70%? Soln: The given solution has 80% milk concentration. Water to be added has 0% milk concentration. So, Milk 80% Water -0% 70% 10% i.e 7 The quantity of water to be added is (1/7)*49-7litres be added is (1/7)"49-litre

5. PROBLEM 7: 6 litres of milk and water mixture has 75% milk in it. How much milk should be added to the mixture to make it 90% pure? Soln: 75 100% 90% 10% 15% i.e. 2 So quantity of milk to be added is (3/2)*6-9litres

6. PROBLEM 8 In 40 litres mixture of milk and water, the ratio of milk to water is 7:1. In order to make the ratio of milk and water 3:1, the quantity of water(in litres) that should be added to the mixture will be? Soln: We will go with milk conc. Soln1 7/8 Soln2 0 3/4 3/4 1/8 i.e 6 So, the quantity of water to be added is (1/6)*40-20/3 litres
