How can we choose the correct answer with the help of 100-50 rule if the Conclusion statement contains 'maybe' in it?

Hi Aditi, “may be” means it’s a probable conclusion. 50-100 Rule is like a digital switch, YES (Conclusion is correct) or NO (Conclusion is Incorrect), this you cannot tell about all possible combinations using this rule. For that you’ll have to use VENN Diagrams, yes... However, dealing with VENN Diagrams in such cases (To fins “May be” conclusions) shouldn’t be a hassle, to find definite conclusions is. Clear now?

  3. 100-50 Rule 1. ALL (Exhaustive) 100 2. NO (Exhaustive)= 100 3. Some (Non-Exhaustive) 50 4. Other Non-exhaustive = 50

  4. Case 1. All- 100, 50 All Men (100) are Car (50) Men given a score of 100 (ALL- Exhaustive) Car given a score of 50 (Non-Exhaustive)

  8. How to Solve using 100-50 Rule?? Consider Statements as Income Consider Conclusion as Expenditure In order to deduce a Conclusion, score of 2 statements should be greater than 100 1. 2. Expenditure can never be more than Income

  9. Example: Statement: All Amit (100) are Intelligent (50) All Intelligent (100) are Smart (50) Select the correct Conclusion: 1. 2. All Smart (100) are Amit (50) Some Smart (50) are Amit (50)

  10. Assign Score to Statements (Income) In 1st Statement: All Amit are Intelligent Amit-100 (ALL) Intelligent 50 (Non-Exhaustive) In 2nd Statement: All Intelligent are Smart Intelligent 100 (ALL) Smart- 50 (Non-Exhaustive)

  11. Statements: All Amit (100) are Intelligent (50) All Intelligent (100) are Smart (50) Income Conclusions: 1. 2. All Smart (100) are Amit (50) Some Smart (50) are Amit (50) Expenditure

  12. Results Statements: All Amit (100) are Intelligent (50) All Intelligent (100) are Smart (50) Conclusions: 1. All Smart (100) are Amit (50) 2. Some Smart (50) are Amit (50 Wrong Correct
