butyl lithium has butyl group..it doesn't replace the place of halide..only replaced by lithium..y so.. it may follow the sn2 mechanism and halide can get replaced by butyl group.. why it is not happening...I have a doubt..plz DNT think silly and reply me sir..plz

Here,you have to know charge of particular group which is to be attached in place halogen.I mean,Li has more electropositive character than butyl group.Therefore,SN2 factor also depends on size of group,i.e butyl has bulky size than Li.
