This lesson gives an explanation of the control measures on Kala-Azar. The first measure is the Control of Reservoir, where the only man is the reservoir of Kala-Azar in India, active and passive case detection and treatment of those affected by this disease is treated. Then there is an overview of Sandfly Control, which is where residual insecticides should be used to control the vector. The main insecticides used are DDT and BHC. The final part of the lesson educates us on Personal Prophylaxis, which can be done by two methods, Health education and personal protective measures.
