The year 1916 of the First World War witnessed two battles that were the most bloodiest battles fought in the war. The battle of Verdun where Germans launched a massive attack on France's last few fortresses and Battle of Somme where British army attacked in order to help the French army. Between these two battles, Battle of Jutland was also fought between the British and German Naval army. The lesson will also cover the Brusilov Offensive, considered to be the most successful offensive conducted by Russians in the First World War.
