Ma'am, this is the very 1st video I have seen in this Unacademy app. I really loved the way you taught us. Thank you very much ma'am. I am having 1 doubt and I hope that you will clear my doubt by replying me. My doubt is regarding respiration. Is respiration a catabolic process or an anabolic process or does it come under both ?

Physiologically it a catabolic process, in single respiratory substrates like glucose will go complete oxidation in series of enzyme catalysed reactions. But Krebs cycle of aerobic respiration is amphibolic that both ana and catabolic . Thank you Swapnil for your positive feedback☺

  8. CHARACTERISTICS OF LIVING BEINGS Characteristics of living beings are as follows

  9. I) METABOLISM * Metabolism iS a process by which all living things assimilate energy and use it for various purposes like growth, movement, development responsiveness, reproduction, etc . Chemical reactions are classified into catabolism and anabolism

  10. Catabolic activities (i) Catabolic activities release energy (ii) Energy liberating reactions are termed as 'exergonic' iii) These are some total of breakdown or destructive process.
