gr8 work :) little correction in pronunciation i would like to put forward. Actually has distinguished pronunciation for choti ee and badi ee. for choti we say it : Ai for badi we say it : ee (same as hindi) eg: Hindi Maithili sampatti sampait vipatti vipait Shakti shaikt so what you are reading ACHI is actually pronounced as AICH Hope this helps.

Thanks. Agreed. like in maithili it's said paa-i-n. I know this, but my problem is I am from non maithili family and more so, I don't have many people with whom I can communicate in Maithili. So, if I'll focus on pronunciation I'll loose my flow. :p

Sir, Reading daily 3 months is sufficient to cover the complete syllabus. Yes, for writing practice past year papers are the best source as the questions are always on the same pattern. Initial 10 days, it may feel tough but as you get used to the grammar it's free flowing. As I complete this Chitra series, I'll upload couple of model answers to get an idea on how to approach. Unlike other subjects, in Maithili PREFACE before the start of a book is best source of questions. As many a times, direct statements have been picked up from the preface.

Not much books are available for this optional. You will get single book related to each topic. Moreover, notes are available but it is always advisable to give a reading of the text course to get your understanding. I'll recommend go for Chitra, Bhafait Chahk Jinagi and Kriti Rajkamalak. The 3 can be easily completed within 10 days. And they are more than sufficient to make your decision with this optional. Any doubts you may ask here, or mail me at upsc.maithili@gmail.com. All the best
