The non-flammable, colourless and odourless solid form of carbon dioxide, is frozen by compressing CO2 to high pressure at a staggering -109.3 F or -78.5 C to create dry ice. Unlike other ices, dry ice transforms directly into gas rather than into a liquid state. The dry ice can be compressed into blocks, pellets and other forms.
How dry ice is made?
The dry ice is manufactured in a process called deposition. The technicians pressurised gases at high concentrations of carbon dioxide. These gases are refrigerated till they form snow-like consistency and then they compress the snow into desired shape and size.
