SSC Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for SSC has been provided below. Recruitment to the post of SSC CGL, CHSL, GD Constable, JE, MTS, and CPO has been mentioned in these tables. SSC exam difficulty level of the online exam will vary from one post to another.
SSC CGL Exam Pattern
The Staff Selection Commission conducts the CGL (Combined Graduate Level) exams in four tiers. The first two-tier exams are conducted in the online mode while the SSC CGL Tier-III exam is conducted in pen-paper mode while the Tier-IV exam will be conducted as a Computer Skill Test.

SSC Eligibility Criteria
The most common SSC eligibility criteria for the exams are educational qualification, age limits and citizenship. The SSC exam age limit for most of the exams is a minimum of 18 years to a maximum of 32 years.

- The candidate needs a minimum of 60% marks in the 12th standard

- The candidate can also have a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institute, board, or university or two years of working experience in execution, planning or maintenance of any Civil Engineering work
- For JE (Mechanical and Electrical) Border Roads Organisation, Ministry of Defence, the candidate should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from any recognised institution or university
- The candidate can also have a diploma for three years of study in automobile, electrical, or mechanical engineering from any recognised institute, board, or university. If the candidate has a diploma, they need two years of experience in the planning, execution, or maintenance of mechanical or electrical engineering works
- For JE (Civil) CPWD, the candidate should have a diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognised institute or university
- For JE (electrical) CPWD, the candidate needs to have a diploma in either Mechanical Engineering or in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institute
- For JE (Civil) Central Water Power Research Station, the candidate needs to have a diploma in Civil Engineering diploma from any recognised university or institution
- For JE (Electrical) Central Water Power Research Station, the candidate needs a diploma in Electrical Engineering from any recognised institution
- For JE (Mechanical) Central Water Power Research Station, the candidate needs a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institute
- For JE (Civil) Central Water Commission, the candidate needs a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognised institution or university
