Ans : Silkworms feed on the leaves of the mulberry trees. As the temperate monsoon type of climate is ideal for the growth of mulberry trees, sericulture is practised in such regions. Therefore, the climate in the temperate monsoon region encourages the growth of mulberry leaves which ultimately supports the rearing of the silkworms. Silkworms are reared extensively in Eastern China, Japan, and South Korea. Silk is a highly valuable fabric that is used in the garment industry to weave shawls, clothes, and other types of apparel.
