Today we meet a UPSC CSE topper who has had a unique story. Tanmay Vashistha Shamra secured an AIR 10 in the UPSC CSE 2018 in his second attempt. Tanmay had given his first attempt at the Civil Service Exam in 2017 where he secured AIR 215 and was allotted the Indian Police Service (IPS). What's interesting is that he practically just prepared for 4 months in his first attempt and managed to get IPS. An IITB graduate, Tanmay decided to go for civil services while working a corporate job and prepared by self-study. Tanmay had Maths optional for UPSC CSE.
