Lesson 7 of 19 • 23 upvotes • 13:48mins
In this lesson we have continued with the To-and-Fro motion. We have summed up the scenarios for opposite direction to and fro as well as same direction to and fro. Enjoy! meeting for the first time a. dist. covered by both = initial dist. between them. b. dist covered by car A : divide the initial dist. in ratio of speeds((4/9) ×1800) =800 in this case c. dist covered BY Car B : divide the initial dist. in ratio of speeds((5/9) ×1800)=1000 in this case d. Time to meet for the first time : dist/ speed = 800/40 = 20 hr or 1000/50 = 20 hr. a. , b., c., d., all get 3 times, 5 times, 7 times 9 times etc in further meets e.(this part is where you have to think a little) dist from A where they meet for the first time = 800 for the second time : total dis covered by A = 2400 so he will cover 1800 (first round, he reached to B) + 600 ( from B towards A) so dist from A = 1800-600=1200 and so on...
