The Union Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved implementation of first phase of reforms pertaining to the Indian Army based on recommendations of Lt Gen Shekatkar Committee. A multi-agency exercise was conducted on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake as the final event of 'Pralay Sahayam' in Hyderabad. The 13th edition Yudh Abhyas 2017, a joint military training exercise between India and United States was held at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, US.
