Shahjahan was son of Jahangir his childhood name was Khurram. He was active member of junta group but later years he had conflict with Noor Jahan. He occupied the throne by the help of his father-in-law Asaf Khan he was a great patron of architecture. He made Taj Mahal in memory of his wife arjumand Bano begum apart from that he built Red fort and jama masjid.
