Q 2. Yes, the formation of linguistic state strengthened the unity of the country. The linguistic-based formation of state promotes regional unity and understanding in a better way. It also helps in terms of better administration. However, It slightly hampers the concept of diversity with unity. When we look into history, we found just after the independence the demand for linguistic division of country came into the picture. The Govt. of India time to time set-up 3 committee on this matter, i.e. - 1. Dhar committee (1948) 2. JVP committee (1949) and finally Fazal Ali committee. The first two committees strongly denied the idea of linguistic division, but the last one accepts this idea with few assumptions, like 1. The formation can't be allowed for one language one state. 2. The security concern of country can't be undermined. 3. It must keep in mind the linguistic formation of state will be based on only for the convenience of administration and promote the unity and integrity of India. We can take an example of recently formed state 'Telangana'. In a recent report of ease of doing business, we have seen how Telangana topped. There can be the various factor but the prominent one is the better administration of the state.
